Three factors contribute to this:
- The nature of the quest (an arduous maze with lots of backtracking)
- Once you gain the amulet, there are insufficient combats in which to test it before the adventure ends (to see if it has a hidden power like another amulet)
- To get the very nice reward for the amulet, you must give it to Tallys before the adventure ends...
The item has passable stats, but they are better than those of the Medallion of Phase Form, and it hasn't been tested to see if it has a hidden benefit or power.
Any and all volunteers are welcome to try! The method would be to save before the adventure, play through, keep the amulet, DON'T save, then fight a bunch of battles (without using Quick Combat). 100 rounds of combat should be sufficient to tell if a power hides on the item.
Then, report the results and (if the test was unfavorable) reload your game to before the adventure...--Hastifertalk 15:17, October 9, 2009 (UTC)
UPDATE: March 2011 - Item has been tested - ran 180 combats and didn't find any hidden powers or bonuses. Seems safe to assume that collecting the reward from Tallys is the best way to make use of this item. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blackcrowe (talk • contribs)
